About Us

The University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review is one of the oldest student legal journals in Canada. First published in 1942 under the name School of Law Review, it was a record of student life and times in the faculty. In the 1950s, the Law Review began to professionalize, moving from a student newspaper to a forum for intellectual debate by students about the law.

Today, it remains devoted to publishing the work of students and recent graduates, but has become one of the most cited legal journals in Canada. The Supreme Court of Canada has cited our articles on Aboriginal, Constitutional, Criminal, Family, and Private Law, but the Law Review itself has no thematic focus. We publish on a wide array of law-related topics and any well-considered analysis related to legal thought is welcome. If you want submit an article, click here.
